Monthly Reflections

“Love is patient,

love is kind;

love is not jealous or boastful;

it is not arrogant or rude.

Love does not insist on its own way,

it is not irritable or resentful;

it does not rejoice at wrong,

but rejoices in the right.

Love bears all things,

believes all things,

hopes all things,

endures all things”

 (1 Cor 13:4-7).

Love is experienced and nurtured in the daily life of couples and their children. It is helpful to think more deeply about the meaning of this Pauline text and its relevance for the concrete situation of every family.

On these pages over the next year, we will post monthly reflections which aim to help us ‘think more deeply’ about different aspects of love in marriage.  We begin with ‘Love is Patient’.
